Messaging Policy

Last updated 3 September 2026 · Version 2026-09-03.draft-1

Draft — attorney review required

This document is a draft. It has not been reviewed by an attorney and is not legal advice. It is published so the product can be tested end to end, and it must be replaced with reviewed text before any real customer uses this service.

No messages are being sent today. Text messaging and email are switched off in this deployment. The mechanics below describe how they will work, and no message will be sent to anyone before sender registration and attorney review are complete.

Four separate choices

Consent is asked for once per kind of message, and each is its own checkbox. Every box starts empty. None of them is required to join a loyalty program, and refusing all of them still gets you a working card.

KindWhat it covers
Loyalty textsVisit confirmations and reward notices. Nothing promotional.
Marketing textsOffers and promotions. Recurring, automated, and entirely optional.
Loyalty emailThe same visit and reward notices, by email.
Marketing emailPromotional email. Optional, with an unsubscribe link in every message.

Stopping messages

Reply with any of these words to any text message to stop it. You will get one confirmation and then nothing further:

STOP · STOPALL · END · CANCEL · UNSUBSCRIBE · QUIT

Reply with either of these for help:

HELP · INFO

Email has an unsubscribe link in every marketing message. You can also withdraw any consent by asking the business directly, or through the Privacy Policy. Stopping messages never affects your card, your visits or your rewards.

Frequency and cost

Message frequency varies by business. Message and data rates may apply — those are charged by your mobile carrier, not by the business or Cync. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Rules this service holds itself to

  • No message is sent without a consent record that names the person, the business, the purpose and the exact wording they agreed to.
  • Marketing consent is never bundled with loyalty consent, and never a condition of joining or of any purchase.
  • An opt-out is honoured for the business it was sent to, immediately, and cannot be overridden by staff.
  • Messages are not sent based on your location. This service does not do geofencing or location-triggered messaging.
  • Quiet hours are observed in the customer's local time zone.
  • Every send, suppression and opt-out is logged, so it can be shown that a message was permitted.

Before any real message is sent

Draft note — outstanding requirements. Text messaging in the United States requires A2P 10DLC brand and campaign registration with the carriers, an approved sample message set, a registered sending number, and a compliance review of this page and of the join-form disclosures by an attorney. Marketing email requires a verified sending domain and a valid physical postal address in every message. None of that is done, which is why messaging is switched off rather than merely unused.
